Alimony During the Divorce

So there is an area in Florida called temporary alimony or alimony pendente lite, which is temporary alimony from one party to the other during the course of the divorce case. So if you’re in the middle of a divorce case, the party or the party’s attorney, if they’re represented can file a motion for temporary support seeking temporary alimony.

They can also seek temporary child support. Temporary parental responsibility, temporary time-sharing, and temporary attorney’s fee suit monies and costs. So there are a lot of different areas a party can request relief on during the pendency of a lawsuit. But I know we want to focus in on alimony, but yes, if one party is not financially contributing to the support of the other parent during the case, there is a mechanism whereby that party can seek temporary support during the action.
