Settlement Agreements. What do I do?

If you’re approached with a settlement agreement, understand that it may be binding on you once it’s signed. If there’s a proposed settlement agreement in front of you, whether a prenuptial agreement, marital settlement agreement, paternity settlement agreement, or post judgment settlement agreement, we can’t stress enough to take the time to read every page, even the boilerplate language.

Recent case law suggests that the word A, the smallest of words in the English language, could mean the difference in your agreement. If you are not sure that you want to be bound by this agreement, we suggest that you consult with an experienced family law attorney before signing it to make sure your issues are addressed.
