What is Mediation?

So mediation is a neutral, voluntary, and confidential process whereby anything that is said in mediation is confidential and cannot be repeated to the judge. The benefits of mediation is either party can make any offers they are free to make and the mediator is not permitted to disclose confidential settlement negotiations to the court.

The only time the mediator is required to report anything is if there’s instances of child abuse, elder abuse, or if someone’s about to commit a crime, but in mediation, you’re allowed to make whatever offers one party wants to make. Everyone is there of their own free will, voluntary. And you’re saying, and you’re asking for the relief from a neutral third party, the mediator does not represent either party.

The mediator will not be the person who will ultimately rule on your case at trial. And it is, it is a confidential process.
