What is P.E.A.C.E.?

P.E.A.C.E. is a useful outline for you, your attorney, and the court to make sure the essential issues are addressed in your case. P is parenting plan. This includes issues such as time-sharing, parental responsibility, transportation, travel, holidays, and other issues regarding your child. If you do not have minor children, you can skip P. E is equitable distribution of assets and liabilities. A is Alimony. C is child support. The second E is everything else, the catch-all provision, which includes taxes, attorney fees, and any other claims in your case. This is not a comprehensive list of everything specifically related to your case, and some of it may not apply at all, but it’s a good start. Make sure your case ends with peace. If you’d like more information, we suggest consulting with an experienced family law attorney.
