The Purpose of Mediation in a Divorce Case


Mediation and divorce case is a great tool and has to be utilized by court order. Unless you settle your case at the beginning and everybody’s great, you’re gonna end up in a mediation. Number one, you’d be utilized to set all case. Number two, you could be utilized in order to be a fact finding mission to understand what the other side’s looking for and to get information you need for your case.

Number three, it can narrow issues. The cost of litigation is very expensive. If you can narrow issues or you can settle your case, do it, and you’re having a third party mediator, help facilitate it. They’re not a judge. They’re not an arbiter, and you’re free to leave mediation at any time. But utilize this as the sources available to you to either resolve your case or keep costs down.
