Top Questions to Ask Your Attorney

The consultation is a great opportunity for you to determine whether the attorney is right for you. This is where your attorney makes the best impression. Provide documents to the attorney before the consultation. Prepare a list of items to discuss. As we suggested in the prior video, ask your attorney what strategy he or she has in mind for your case.

If you have an open case, ask the attorney if he or she has reviewed your docket prior to the consultation and whether he or she is familiar with opposing counsel. Who else will be working on your file, including associates, paralegals, and other possible experts? You need to be comfortable with your attorney. This will benefit you and your attorney during the case.

If you’d like more information, we suggest consulting with an experienced family law attorney.
